Cory Dawson is a lawyer in our Edmonton office practicing in wills, estates + trusts, real estate and family contracts including pre-nuptial, cohabitation, and separation agreements.

Cory works with clients in all areas of estate planning providing professional guidance in drafting Wills, Powers of Attorney, and Personal Directives. Additionally, Cory represents executors, beneficiaries, and other interested parties in the administration of estates, with a strong emphasis on conflict resolution during this normally stressful and emotional time. When conflict cannot be avoided, Cory represents clients in all estate litigation matters, including family maintenance and support claims, challenges to the validity of a Will and/or the interpretation of a Will, and estate accounting applications.

With a Bachelor's Degree in English and Political Science, Education, and a Master's of Education Degree, Cory received his Juris Doctor from the University of Alberta. During Law School, Cory was a member of the Alberta Law Review, serving on the Special Projects Committee and acting as its Treasurer.

Cory is an avid sports fan, supporting the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors, but he has adopted the Edmonton Oilers as his team since making Edmonton his home. He is also committed to the community, serving as the Past President of his Community League, the current Treasurer for the Elder Law section of the Canadian Bar Association, and past Co-Chair of the Real Property North Canadian Bar Association section.

Value to Clients

"I take great pride in providing my clients with exceptional service and a practice that is rooted in trustworthiness, integrity, and resolution. My clients continually thank me for the personal nature of my representation and for feeling respected as individuals."

Outside the Office

As a father of two elementary aged children, much of Cory's time is spent with them - either as a chauffeur, tutor, or coach. When he can, he enjoys mountain bike riding with friends in the River Valley and getting to the gym with his 5 a.m. workout buddies.
